A man arrested following a stabbing in the centre of Portadown has been released on bail.
The 27-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in the Portmore Street area on Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly after 3.25pm a man in his 30s was found bleeding heavily from a wound to his shoulder.
A suspect – now released – was arrested in the Deramore Drive area on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a blade or point in a public place.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.
A police spokesperson confirmed that the 27-year-old man has “been released on bail to allow for further enquiries”
