‘My wee princess’ – family and friends heartbroken at sudden death of young Portadown mum

Dana Murphy Portadown

Family, friends and an entire community have been plunged into darkness following the sudden passing of a young Portadown mum-of-two.

Dana Murphy died suddenly at home in Wentworth Green on Sunday.

A funeral notice described her as the devoted mummy of Eli and Lennon, cherished daughter of Ellen and Tim Wilson, special sister of David and Dwight, much loved granddaughter of Pat and the late Terrence Heaney, Leonard and the late Sadie Wilson, also a darling niece of Sarah, Joanne, Judith, Nicola and William.

Tributes have been pouring in online following the announcement of her tragic and untimely passing.

Heartbroken dad Timmy led the tributes with just three precious words: “My wee princess.”

One close friend wrote: “I just can’t understand why or how this has happened Dana, I miss you so much already, I’m just waiting for you to ring me and tell me you’re coming to my house. If only you knew how many people were there for you and how much you were loved. We are in sync forever, love you so so so much.”

Another commented: “…the loveliest girl with the biggest smile and the kindest heart.. rest easy Dana Murphy.”

One person described her as “a beautiful young woman and a fabulous mum to her two boys.”

“The brightest star in the sky, we love you,” added another.

A private funeral service will be held for Dana on Thursday. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so on Thursday at 2.45pm in Kernan Cemetery while adhering to current social distancing guidance.

Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of flowers for the benefit of Killicomaine Community Church can be made here or cheques made payable to Milne Funeral Services Donation’s Account, 59 Seagoe Road, Portadown BT63 5HS.

Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by the entire family circle.
