One of borough’s biggest ever play parks planned with state-of-the-art development in Portadown

Portadown play park

ABC Council is to splash out on one of its biggest children’s play parks in Portadown.

The state-of-the-art development would be located on a site at Kernan Hill Road.

This is the latest in a long-running multi-million pound investment in play facilities across the whole of the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area.

The proposals have been earmarked for a site currently identified as “existing council-owned green space”.

The new Portadown play park would stretch to close to 5,000 sq ft.

Among the many exciting play features – which will cover all ages and abilities including play features for wheelchair users – are a rope net climbing wall, sensory flower activity panel, den area, and multi-activity play unit.

The park will also include seating and litter bins too.

The application is now with ABC Council and will be publicly advertised shortly.
