
One person has been taken to hospital following a two-vehicle collision in Portadown this morning (Tuesday).
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on the Northway, close to the Asda, shortly after 7am.
The casualty, understood to be a male, was taken to Craigavon Area Hospital.
Fire crews from Portadown and Lurgan attended the scene.
A NI Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Firefighters were called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Bridge Street, Portadown.
“One casualty had self-rescued when firefighters arrived and one casualty was rescued from a vehicle and transferred to the care of NIAS. The incident was dealt with by 8.58am.”
A spokesperson for the NI Ambulance Service added: “NIAS received a 999 call at 7.16am on Tuesday, June 10, following reports of a road traffic collision in the Bridge Street area of Portadown.
“The NIAS despatched one Emergency Ambulance Crew and a Rapid Response Paramedic to the scene.
“One person was taken to Craigavion Area Hospital by ambulance.”
The Northway has since been cleared.
