The site of a former nail salon at Portadown’s prominent Magowan West shopping plaza could soon become the home of a Pilates studio under the submission of fresh plans.
The application – submitted in the name of Dr Andrea Emerson of Align Pilates – pertains to Unit 6 in the centre which was formally home to the nail parlour.
Unit 6 sits directly between Hays Travel and Ginos fashion retailer.
Seeking permission for a “change of use” from a retail unit to a Pilates studio, the application outlines minor cosmetic changes to the interior and exterior of the unit.
Plans state that the unit is already fitted with an air conditioning unit to manage air-flow.
The unit is currently vacant and – if approved – the addition of a Pilates studio would see the centre that bit closer to full occupancy… with only three remaining vacant units.
Magowan West is currently home to a mix of multi-national and independently owned businesses including Boots, Lynas Food Outlet, United Colors of Benetton, Air Italian Restaurant, The Bottom Drawer boutique and Portadown Locksmiths.
It provides close proximity to Portadown’s main shopping streets and has ample off-street parking available.
