Police appeal over early morning assault on woman in Portadown

Police are appealing for information following an assault that occurred in the centre of Portadown in the early hours of Sunday, May 8.

Sometime between 1am and 2am, a 30-year-old woman was in the High Street area when she was pushed from behind.

The woman fell and suffered a broken arm as a result.

The assailant is believed to be a woman between the ages of 18 and 25 who had dark hair that was tied back at the time.

Constable McWha said: “I would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident to contact Lurgan Police Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 386 of 08/05/16.

“Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
