Polish national set to contest illegal entry charges and assaults on police

The defendant is facing two counts of illegal entry to the UK in breach of a Deportation Order

A Polish national is set to contest charges of illegal entry to the UK and assaults on police later this month.

The case of Rafal Gawrylkowicz – with an address in Oran Fold, Portadown – was mentioned on the video link list at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court.

The defendant is charged with on June 1, 2025 having gained entry to the UK in breach of a Deportation Order and on October 5, 2025 of having allegedly assaulted two police constables and resisted police.

An illegal entry charge also pertains to the date of October 5, 2025.

Mr Taylor, defence counsel for Gawrylkowicz, informed the court that the case is set for contest on July 30, with which they aired no issues.

A Polish interpreter will be required for the hearing.

The prosecution, similarly, raised no issues ahead of the contest date.

Gawrylkowicz is expected to appear for the contest on July 30.
