Family, friends and a wider community in Portadown are in mourning following the sad passing a young schoolboy on Thursday afternoon.
Aaron Joseph Alan Gibson passed away peacefully in The Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children – he was 13-years-old.
An avid Liverpool supporter, Aaron – from Kernan Hill Manor – was the cherished son of Roy and Ann, dearest brother of Rebekah and a much-loved grandson of Alan and Margaret Kennedy.
While a family have been plunged into grief, school friends at Killcomaine Junior High School are also coming to terms with their unimaginable loss.
The sense of shock has numbed the community, for Aaron was seen by many for his friends and teachers, as “a wonderful wee man”.
Tributes have come from far and wide to the youngster whose smile would light up a room.
Teachers who had the privilege of Aaron’s company share messages; others, their memories, of a “beautiful boy with a beautiful heart”.
One described Aaron as “a lovely boy”.
“I can clearly hear his giggles in the classroom all of a sudden,” she added. “Sending love and prayers to the whole family for strength and comfort in the days that lie ahead.”
One person commented: “You are so loved by so many and your passing has touched so many hearts. Your fight is over and you will remain forever young.”
Aaron’s funeral service will take place on Sunday at 2pm in Seagoe Parish Church with committal following in Kernan Cemetery.

Very deeply regretted and sadly missed by the entire family circle.
