A Portadown man has been charged with attempting to have a ‘sexual communication’ with a child.
Peter Lyness (37), of Derryall Road, is charged in relation to dates between September 30 and October 29 in 2023.
He is also charged with making and possessing indecent photos of children and possession of an ‘extreme pornographic image’ between August 2020 and October 2023.
At Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, a defence lawyer said the defendant had a “significant mental health history” and “fitness to plea” is to be examined.
The case was adjourned to October 3.
The defendant is on continuing bail.
