A Portadown man who was growing cannabis in his own home will have to wait until next month to learn his fate.
The judge ordered that a pre-sentence report be prepared given the “nature” of the charges the 28-year-old faced.
Jay Woolsey, of Brownstown Park, pleaded guilty to cultivating cannabis and two counts of possession of class B at the city’s Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
The defendant was detected with both herbal cannabis and cannabis resin on February 14 of this year.
Upon hearing the plea, District Judge Bernie Kelly commented: “Given the nature of the charges I am going to require a pre-sentence report”.
The case will return on October 4 for sentencing.
