A Portadown motorist who hit a speed of over 100mph was on his way to Lurgan Police Station in relation to bail.
Brian McShane, with an address listed as Garvaghy Park, was detected on the M1 at 10.35am on May 1 this year.
The 39-year-old appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday via video link from prison where he is on remand “for other matters,” a defence barrister said.
When stopped on May 1, the defendant told police: “I didn’t realise I was doing that speed, I am truly sorry.”
The defence barrister said the defendant had been “on his way to Lurgan Police Station, he was re-bailed for a matter and didn’t want to be breached”.
He added: “He owns a cafe and a shop which he intends to re-open once he achieves bail on his other matter”.
The defendant already had nine penalty points on his licence.
He was banned from driving for a month and was fined £200.
