Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious fire in two mid-terrace properties in Portadown this evening (Saturday).
Almost 40 firefighters are currently battling the blaze in the Goban Street area.
Residents have been evacuated and the fire service have confirmed to Armagh I that due to the quick actions of the occupiers, there is no immediate threat to life.
Group Commander Stephen Hind told Armagh I that the Fire Service received multiple calls at approximately 8.13pm.
Five appliances from Armagh, Banbridge, Lurgan, Dungannon, Springfield and Lisburn have been despatched to the scene – a total of 38 firefighters.
Group Commander Hind said: “This is a well-developed fire and an ongoing incident so we would ask the public to avoid the immediate area this evening as we work to make the area safe.”
Police and ambulance crews are also at the scene and neighbours have been evacuated.
