Tributes have been paid to a young Co Armagh woman who has passed away after a brave battle with cancer.
Rebecca Ilunga, who will be laid to rest on Saturday, was just 31 years of age.
Rebecca passed away peacefully in hospital yesterday (Wednesday).
A young woman with a great personal faith, her passing has left her family and many friends heartbroken.
Rebecca, a daughter of Ronnie and Diane Capper and sister to Neil, Kerry and Jordan, was a member of Moira Pentecostal Church.
She married the love of her life, Daniel, on July 21, 2018.
During her own all-too-short life, Rebecca touched so many lives and her loss has been deeply felt.
Her sister, Kerry, shared a few special words on social media.
“To my big sister, I wish we could hang out more and talk, but we both know we can’t,” she wrote. “Our love for each other was too strong and our time together was too short.
“You were always there for me and I will always love and miss you with all my heart.”
Rebecca’s aunt, Avril Capper, also shared her thoughts when she wrote: “Our hearts are broken to lose such a special girl who had so much to give and live for. We know you’re in heaven but will miss you dearly.”
Upper Bann DUP MLA Jonny Buckley knew the family and passed on his condolences.
He said: “Rebecca fought a courageous battle with cancer for many years and I know she has a left a special mark that will live forever in the memories of family and friends.”
Rebecca’s funeral will take place on Saturday, at 1pm in Moira Pentecostal Church, after which she will be laid to rest in Kernan Cemetery in Portadown.
A death notice directs that the house is strictly private, but family and friends are welcome to share their condolences in Malcomsons Funeral Home tomorrow (Friday), between 7pm and 9pm.
