Two men have been arrested after a string of burglaries across Counties Armagh and Down.
Homes in Poyntzpass, Newry and Portadown were all broken into.
Last Monday, November 16, police received reports of burglaries at homes in Lisnabrague Bungalows, Poyntzpass, and Ranfurley Road, Portadown. Entry was forced to two house in Lisnabrague and jewellery was taken. In Ranfurley Road, entry was forced to a house and a sum of cash taken.
The following day, police also received a report of suspicious activity in Aughan Park, Newry.
The occupant of a house there observed a man walking through the front door while a second waited outside. The occupant challenged them and the pair made off in a silver Mitsubishi vehicle.
A silver Mitsubishi Gallant vehicle was subsequently stopped by police on Gosford Road, Markethill, on Tuesday, November 17.
A 20-year-old and 27-year-old were arrested on suspicion of burglary and later released on bail pending further enquiries.
Constable Alan McKinney said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to any of these incidents. We are also keen to trace the movements of a silver Mitsubishi vehicle on Monday, 16 November. If you can help please phone us on 101.”
