The owner of a Co. Armagh pub left badly damaged after a car crashed into it has thanked everyone who offered their help.
A car carrying a woman and two children collided with the wall of the pub causing extensive damage yesterday morning (Tuesday).
Posting an update on social media, owner Matthew Bird thanked everyone for their support
“Thanks to everyone who offered to help me with Sally’s yesterday, I really appreciate it,” he said. “Thankfully we are open today, bar’s open from 12, food starts at 5pm.”
Speaking to Belfast Live yesterday, Mr Bird said: “I watched the CCTV and it was quite scary. I was shocked.
“She had children sleeping in the back of car. I am sure she just wants to forget it.”
A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a one-vehicle road traffic collision in the Markethill Road area of Portadown at approximately 8am on Tuesday February 11.
“It was reported a vehicle had collided with commercial premises in the area. There are no reports of any injuries.”
