Five motorists have been clocked driving in excess of 100mph in Portadown over the past few days.
Inevitably putting lives at risk, the PSNI’s Road Policing unit has urged drivers to: “Catch a grip and slow down!”
The PSNI says steady rainfall over the past number of days had resulted in some challenging driving conditions all over Northern Ireland, but some drivers still did not get the message to slow down.
Road Policing officers based in Portadown over the past few days had detected five drivers travelling well in excess of 100mph – where “clearly the speed limit and weather conditions dictate otherwise, therefore putting themselves and other road users at risk”.
The PSNI – in a cautionary note to others – warned via Facebook” “These drivers will now have an opportunity to explain their driving behaviour to the district judge.”
