Fresh efforts have been promised in a bid to solve flooding problems at New Line in Richhill.
ABC strategic director of Neighbourhood Services Jonathan Hayes has indicated that he will look at some trimming and drainage issues in the vicinity of Richhill Recreation Centre.
The matter was mentioned by Alderman Gareth Wilson at the March monthly meeting of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.
Alderman Wilson highlighted the “requirement for some trimming of overgrowth” in the vicinity of the Recreation Centre.
And he added: “When he’s at it, he could also link up with me on an issue of drainage out on the main road.
“I think there is some infrastructure within the recreation centre site that is defective, and it’s leading to flooding up on New Line, and Roads Service are keen to get involved in order to try a dual approach to try and resolve the issue.”
Mr Hayes replied: “I will certainly speak to Alderman Wilson in relation to those in more detail.”
