A number of homes have been evacuated in Richhill following the discovery of a suspected World War II bomb.
The historic munition was found to the rear of a property in the Woodlawn Heights area of the village.
Inspector Browne said: “Police are working to assess the object at this time. I appreciate this may cause some disruption, however keeping people safe is paramount and we will not take any risks. I want to thank those who may be affected for their patience as we continue our work to clear the area.”
One homeowner has already spoken of his surprise having received a visit from police 20 minutes after the electricity went off on Sunday night because of Storm Isha.
Some residents in parts of the county remain without electricity this morning and road users are being asked to exercise caution and only travel if necessary given the severity of the damage.
