Woods’ SuperValu Fruitfield in Richhill was honoured at the 2023 Retail Industry Awards recently taking home the sought-after Independent Retailer of the Year title (over 6,000 sq ft category).
This is the second time the store has won the title, after being recognised as the best in the UK in 2021, and highly commended in 2022.
Commenting on the award, Philip Woods, SuperValu Fruitfield owner said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have won the Independent Retailer of the Year Award once again, after achieving the title in 2021. To be recognised as the best independent store in the UK is an accolade of which we’re very proud. We look forward to continuing to provide excellent service and an extensive choice for our customers for many years to come.”
Paddy Murney, Retail Sales Director at Musgrave NI (owner of the SuperValu brand) added: “I would like to congratulate Woods’ SuperValu Fruitfield which competed against some of the best stores in the UK, to achieve this top award. The store is continually evolving to meet the demands of the modern shopper and the team’s commitment to serving their local community with the best in modern convenience retailing is unwavering. This award is testament to that, and I’m delighted the store has been recognised as best in class for the service it provides.”
Widely regarded as ‘The Oscars’ of the grocery sector, the Retail Industry Awards reward excellence and outstanding achievement across a broad range of categories, recognising independent retailers alongside the large supermarket groups.
