LAMB prices were very satisfactory at Markethill on Wednesday, June 19.
Suitable light lambs sold to 476p per kilo for 20 kilos @ £95.20 each, followed by 464p per kilo for 20.5 kilos @ £95 each. All good quality pens sold from 430p to 454p per kilo. All the light lambs sold averaged 21 kilos @ £90.90 each (431p)
Heavy lambs sold from £93 to £98 each and up to 398p per kilo for 24 kilos @ £95.50 each.
Good quality cull ewes sold from £65 to £80 each with 2nds from £45 to £57 each.
The final sale of Breeding Sheep for the season sold readily. Singles sold from £120 to £165 each and doubles sold to £152 each.
