A sculpture is to be unveiled in Armagh in November to act as a constant reminder to both staff and the public of St Luke’s Hospital’s place in the history of local healthcare.
It will take place during a special service of thanksgiving and reflection at St Luke’s Hospital, which is being organised by the Southern Trust.
The Trust is hoping to welcome members of the public, and especially former patients and staff, to the service on Sunday, November 16, at 2pm.
It provide an opportunity to reflect on the history of St Luke’s Hospital, the place it had in the care and treatment of mental illness and the thousands of patients who have been treated and cared for since 1824.
In addition, it will be an opportunity to thank all the staff for their commitment and dedication in providing care and support to patents and their families throughout those many years.
An important part of the event will be the unveiling of the sculpture to commemorate St Luke’s Hospital.
