Sheep ‘steady’ at Markethill

SHEEP prices were steady at Markethill on Wednesday, April 10.

Heavy hoggets sold from £97 to £102 each with suitable pens from 375p to 400p per kilo for 25 kilos @ £100 each.

Middleweights sold to 408p per kilo for 24 kilos @ £98 each. Main demand sold from 375p to 396p per kilo.

Spring lambs sold from 480p to 500p per kilo with a top of 525p per kilo for 20 kilos @ £105 each, followed by 515p per kilo for 19.5 kilos @ £100.50 each.

Good quality cull ewes sold from £65 to £82 each with 2nd quality from £40 to £55 each.

In the breeding ring doubles sold from £140 to £200 each. Singles sold from £100 to £136 each.
