TRANSPORT Minister Danny Kennedy announced today (Monday) that a £115,000 strengthening scheme on the Cully Road at Carrigans in Silverbridge is to begin on Monday, September 9.
“This is a significant scheme to strengthen the carriageway infrastructure and the improvement will serve the public for many years to come,” he said.
The scheme is expected to be completed on Friday, October 25.
To help minimise any inconvenience to road users, local residents and businesses, the improvements are scheduled to be carried out using temporary road closures. An alternative route will be in operation via Silverbridge Road, New Road, Legmoylin Road and Tullydonnell Road.
As with all works of this type, dates are subject to favourable weather conditions. Roads Service will keep the public informed of any change.
Roads Service says it has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public, but motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
