Arson probe after car set on fire outside Forkhill house

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a report of an arson incident at house in the Carrickasticken Road area of Forkhill in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 3rd June.

Detective Inspector Moffett said: “Shortly after 12:30am, it was reported that a car outside a residential property had been set alight.

“Extensive damage was caused to the vehicle as a result, as well as some damage to the outside of the property.

“Colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire, and thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing this morning, and we are appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time, or who has any information which might assist, to get in touch.

“The number to call is 101, quoting reference number 39 of 03/06/26.”
