Armagh may have missed out on a place in the All-Ireland final this year but the Orchard County will still be represented in style!
Kerry – who defeated Kieran McGeeney’s men last month – will face Mayo this Sunday to determine Sam Maguire’s forwarding address for the year that lies ahead!
It’s the biggest day in the GAA calendar and promises to serve up a feast of football to savour from two teams who have seen off the best of the rest across Ireland.
And preparing to delight the tens of thousands of fans lucky to be there – along with millions more watching at home and around the world – will be a contingent from County Armagh.
All-Ireland winners themselves, the Ballad Group of Carrickcruppen GAA, in the heart of south Armagh, have been invited to perform.
Step aside the Artane Band, for these girls are set to deliver a magical moment which should prove to be a true highlight of the day.
It was in April that the five-strong Ballad Group travelled to Castlebar to compete – and win – at the 2026 Scór Sinsear All-Ireland Finals.
Tremendously talented, they had persevered and pushed themselves with a passion to take the cup back to the Crup!
It was 21 years since the Ballad Group last tasted All-Ireland success and the celebrations – after a triumphant homecoming back to Camlough – were indeed the stuff of legend.
Now the five – Blánaid, Ciara, Caoimhe, Geraldine and Orla – are off on their travels again.
For the club has confirmed their invitation to perform ahead of Sunday’s big game.
Offering “massive congratulations” to the fab five, the club – announcing their Dublin date – wrote: “What an honour for the girls – representing their families, our club, our community, and Armagh on the biggest stage in the country.”
