Residents in Culloville are increasingly concerned with the growing number of robberies in the area.
Slieve Gullion Sinn Féin councillor Terry Hearty has appealed for vigilance.
“The recent spate of robberies in Culloville village and the surrounding area have caused great concern amongst local residents,” he said.
“I would appeal for all to be extra vigilant and be alert to suspicious activity.”
He added: “With holidays and the good weather many houses may be vacant for a time, so I’d encourage homeowners to advise their neighbours if they are to be away for any length of time.
“I have contacted the local Community Association and offered to facilitate a meeting with residents to discuss concerns if needed.
“However in the meantime, vigilance is key to deterring those engaged in these criminal acts.”
