A security alert in the Carrive Road area of Silverbridge has ended after bomb experts carried out a controlled explosion on a viable device.
Police attended a property shortly after 8.45am today (Saturday), where a suspicious device was discovered inside.
The area was sealed off to the public and a number of diversions put in place while Ammunition Technical Officers examined the object.
Sergeant Macdonald said: “Ammunition technical officers attended the scene, and carried out a controlled explosion on the device, which was deemed to be viable.
“One man aged in his 20s has been arrested in relation to the incident, and remains in police custody, assisting with enquiries.
“Road closures in the area have now been lifted.”
Police have appealed for information.
“Enquiries are ongoing, and we would appeal to anyone who might have any information which could assist to contact officers via 101, and quote reference number 339 of 05/09/26,” Sergeant Macdonald added.
