Five masked men assaulted man in Silverbridge home before setting getaway car on fire

A man in his 30s was assaulted by five masked men during a burglary in south Armagh.

It happened shortly before 7am in the the Bonds Road area of Silverbridge.

Detective Sergeant Johnston said: “It is believed that five masked men have gained entry to the property, causing damage and assaulting the resident, a man aged in his 30s who sustained minor injuries.

“The suspects then fled in a stolen grey Mercedes. The vehicle was later found to have been set alight in the New Road area of Cullyhanna.

“The fire was extinguished by our colleagues at Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, however the vehicle was destroyed.

“We would ask anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious or who may have CCTV, doorbell footage or dash-cam footage to contact us on 101 quoting reference 946 29/06/26”
