A south Armagh quarry is up for sale – but you’ll have to dig deep to meet the asking price!
Described as a “rare commodity”, it has not been operational since the owner passed away two years ago.
But now the site – known as O’Hagan’s Quarry – has been put on the market for the first time.
Offers are being invited in excess of £1 million!
The quarry is located on the Bog Road in Forkhill, and extends to around 27 acres.
Cumiskey Property Sales Ltd has been tasked with finding a new owner.
The seller believes that there will be a big interest and the quarry could be sold as one lot of divided up if necessary.
It is being marketed as “situated convenient to the border with the Irish Republic with easy access to the motorway for aggregate going North or South”.
But there is more than just the quarry factored into the asking price.

There is a separate shed and enclosed yard – previously used for maintenance of the quarry plant and equipment.
And now just that, the property also includes a “well maintained three bedroom bungalow with separate access and garden to front and rear”.
The agent in charge of the process says the quarry itself is “an extremely rare commodity and has a number of various uses apart from aggregate”.
He expects “a keen interest in the property as aggregate – or land fill sites subject to planning permission – are in high demand”.
