Two-vehicle road collision in Camlough

Emergency services are currently dealing with a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Camlough this morning (Tuesday).

The collision occurred on the Sturgan Brae.

Road diversions are in place at the end of the Hall Road and Newtown Road. Please seek an alternative route for your journey.

11.20AM update: Sturgan Brae, Camlough has re-opened following an earlier two vehicle road traffic collision this morning, Tuesday 17th January.

Meanwhile, motorists are advised to drive with caution and leave extra time for their journey this morning as temperatures fall below freezing, with increased risk of ice.

A yellow warning for snow and ice is in place until 12noon today with the MetOffice advising “some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths”.

An update from TrafficWatchNI stated: “Temperatures are currently sub zero and there is a risk of snow and ice on roads.

“Salting of roads on the scheduled network has been undertaken overnight.

“All main routes on the scheduled road network are open and passable with care.”

The rest of today should see some bright or sunny periods and scattered snow or hail showers, most frequent and occasionally heavy in the north and west.
