A new regional headquarters for the St John Ambulance has been opened in Portadown.
Located in the Cido Business Complex at Carn Drive, Craigavon, the St John Hall will be used as a training hub for adult volunteers, cadets and badgers in County Armagh as well as parts of Down and Tyrone.
It will also serve as the base for the three ambulances, Land Rover and first aid unit currently deployed by the Portadown unit.
The new base is needed to meet the growing demand for ambulance cover at public and sporting events in Portadown and throughout the area, the organisation said.
Crews also undertake the transfer of discharged patients from hospitals to their homes and inter-hospital transfers.
