A car stolen in Banbridge has crashed into several vehicles during rush-hour on the M1 near Sprucefield.
A man was arrested at the scene which happened around 8am this morning.
Police confirmed that the car was stolen a short time earlier in the Banbridge area.
The incident caused long tailbacks on the motorway.
The 29-year-old is being questioned on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene of a road traffic collision.
It is understood that police had been monitoring the stolen car’s movements.
A woman was taken to hospital for injuries that are not believed to be serious.
