An Armagh man has been convicted of claiming more than £5,000 in benefits.
Armagh Magistrates’ Court heard on Friday that 37-year-old Barry Oliver, of Rockvale, claimed Jobseekers’ Allowance totalling £5,502 while failing to declare employment.
He was given an eight week suspended sentence for 12 months.
He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
