Burglars make off with jewellery after breaking into county Armagh home

Burglars made off with a quantity of jewellery after breaking through the rear of a county Armagh home.

Police in Armagh are appealing for information following the burglary in Tandragee.

Sometime between 7.45am and 7.30pm on Thursday,  November 5, entry was forced to the rear of a property and a quantity of jewellery was stolen.

Constable Moody said: “We would like to hear from anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area during this time to contact us in Armagh on 101, quoting ref: 1072 051115.

“We are also reminding householders to take steps to make their property safe. Always ensure all windows and doors are locked and secured and consider timer lights to make your home look occupied. Outside lights and alarms are also a great deterrent – criminals will always choose the easy option.

“The most important thing is to keep an eye out in your neighbourhood. If you notice something that doesn’t look or feel right, please phone us straight away. We would much rather check out something that turns out to be non-suspicious than miss the opportunity to prevent or detect a crime.”
