The pilot of a small aircraft which crashed at a Tandragee airfield has been taken to hospital.
Firefighters were also called to help make the scene safe at Kernan Airfield, just off the Mullahead Road.
A spokesperson for the NI Ambulance Service (NIAS) said: “We received a 999 call at 1.26pm on Tuesday, January 30 following reports of an incident in the Mullahead Road area, Tandragee.
“NIAS despatched two emergency crews and the hazardous area response team to the incident. Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken by ambulance to Craigavon Area Hospital.”
Fire crews from Portadown and Lurgan also attended.
An NIFRS spokesperson commented: “Firefighters were called to reports of a light aircraft crash on Mullahead Road, Portadown. Firefighters secured the area.
“The pilot was out of the aircraft when firefighters arrived and has been transferred to the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service. There were no passengers on the aircraft. The incident was dealt with by 2.27pm.”
The Air Accident Investigations Branch has been informed of the incident.
Kernan Aviation released a statement which read: “A visiting aircraft today, had an accident while landing at Kernan. We are thankful the occupant escaped significant injury and exited the aircraft.
“As is standard procedure, the emergency services attended, and relevant authorities have been notified. We would like to thank all the first responders for their swift and compassionate response.”
