Tandragee could be in line for a housing boost with plans in place for a £1.2 million investment in the town.
The development is earmarked for a site of vacant land east of Old Mill Race.
It is actually the fourth phase of this particular housing scheme, which is being proposal by Buildcon Homes Ltd.
It will consist of a total of 14 houses, complete with garages.
According to Construction Information Services, this latest phase will cost in the region of £1.2 million.
In a concept statement, the applicant states: “We believe this application reflects a modest and sympathetic residential infill proposal in the already established town development of Tandragee and as such addresses the criteria and requirements of the relevant planning policy statements and design guide directives.
“The concept of residential development on the site is in keeping with the established usage in the area.”
Adding: “The low/medium density of the application is sympathic to the atmosphere of the adjacent surroundings. The loss of amenity to neighbouring properties is minimal and landscaping proposals are designed specifically to address this issue.”
The submission of proposals to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council comes just a week after plans were lodged for 20 new homes to be build at nearby Clare.
The Tandragee application will be publicly advertised next week.
