Thousands turn out for Christmas lights switch on in Dungannon and Coalisland

Thousands turned out in Dungannon to enjoy the return of Mid Ulster District Council’s Dungannon Christmas Lights Switch On event, on Saturday November 29.

Family focused festive fun took place from 6.00pm at Market Square, including music to get you in the festive mood from on-stage DJ and musical entertainment.

A Christmas Pageant made its way through the streets of Dungannon.

Santa then arrived in style by SJ Davidsons Motors to turn on the town’s Christmas lights with Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Frances Burton.

Then the following evening in Coalisland the festivities continued and the heavy rain didn’t dampen the spirits of those who attended Mid Ulster District Council’s Coalisland Christmas Lights Switch On event!

The switch on event took place at the Cornmill in the town centre from 5pm – 7pm.

There was lots of festive fun from 5pm – 6.30pm, including Christmas music live on stage, face painting, walkabout characters, and the opportunity to meet Santa in his cosy grotto.

Craic Theatre then took to the stage and entertained the crowd before Santa and Chair of the Council’s Development Committee, Councillor John McNamee counted down and officially illuminated the town and fabulous Christmas tree for the festive period just before 7pm.
