Three people were convicted at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday) for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Rui Belo (39) of Dingwell Park, Lurgan claimed Jobseekers Allowance totalling £910 while failing to declare employment. He was given a two year conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of £34.
Tanya Harrison (37) of Baird Avenue, Donaghcloney claimed Income Support totalling £5,873 while failing to declare employment. She was given a two year conditional discharge.
Elizabeth Burns (28) of Castlerise, Tandragee claimed Housing Benefit totalling £6,081 while failing to declare employment. She was given an absolute discharge.
All are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
