A TRACHEROUS corner in Tullysaran is to be improved after continuous lobbying from a councillor from the area.
Sinn Féin councillor Gerard Paul White has welcomed the news that Roads Service plan to improve the visibility at the corner at Mary Ann’s pub in Tullysaran, along with the provision of an extended footpath from Killara Grange up to Mary Ann’s.
Councillor White explained: “This is excellent news, as this stretch of the road is on a dangerous bend for both drivers and pedestrians. Roads Service has said that the corner improvement scheme will provide enhanced visibility for drivers along this stretch of the Maydown Road.
“The provision of a footpath is also very welcome as it will allow patrons of the local bar to walk safely up and down from their local pub to the neighbouring housing developments.
“I have been lobbing Roads Service on this issue and I am now pleased that this work is planned to commence in the financial year 2014/15 all subject to availability of funding and acquisition of lands.”
