A 25-year-old man arrested in connection with a serious assault on a 20-year-old man in the Milford area on Sunday, has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
A second man, aged 24, was also arrested and questioned yesterday (Monday) in connection with the attack.
He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The 20-year-old victim of the assault – who lay undiscovered in a field off the Monaghan Road for a number of hours on Sunday – remains in a serious condition in hospital at this time.
Police enquiries are ongoing.
