Police in Newtownhamilton are appealing for information following the theft of tools from a van.
Sometime between 2pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, 16 May, a blue Ford Transit van, reg NUI 5488, parked on Old Road, Mullaghabawn, was stolen.
The van contained a number of valuable tools including an orange coloured STIL concrete saw value, a silver coloured bull float for finishing concrete with blue handles, a TOPCAN laser level, tripod and staff value, a MAKITA kango hammer and a green/blue transformer box, a grey coloured RYOBI cordless drill, two extension leads and a variety of other tools, levels, trowels, hammers and shovels.
Constable Bell said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has information in relation to the theft or whereabouts of the van and tools. We can be contacted in Newtownhamilton on 101, quoting ref: 778 160515.
“We would also like to remind householders to take steps to make sure their property is secure. Always lock your doors and windows, even when you are home. Be vigilant of suspicious activity and if you notice something in your local area which looks out of place or doesn’t feel quite right, pick up the phone and let us know.”
Police in Newtownhamilton are also appealing for information after a 41 year old man sustained injuries on Sunday afternoon, 17 May.
Constable Michael Finucane said: “We would like to speak to a taxi driver who collected a 41 year old man from Marcus Square, Newry on Sunday afternoon, 17 May, between 3 and 4pm and dropped him off in the John F Kennedy Park area of Bessbrook.
“We are asking the taxi driver or anyone who has information which may assist us to contact us in Newtownhamilton on 101, quoting ref: 446 190515.”
