Residents have been urged to be vigilant after a number of burglaries in south Armagh in recent days
Speaking about the incidents councillor Daire Hughes said: “Thieves who came equipped to carry out this crime, in what I believe was a targeted incident, damaged a garage door in their efforts to gain access.
“They escaped with hundreds of pounds of garden tools and equipment leaving the victims out of pocket and with damage to repair. I believe that this was not the only incident on that night and again garden equipment was taken.
Cllr Hughes continued: “I appeal to residents to be vigilant and ensure that all homes and outhouses are secured and all equipment locked up. These thieves will continue to blight our communities with their anti social activities and the only way to deal with them is to notify police if you see anything suspicious in your area.”
