POLICE have confirmed that a woman’s body has been found in Bessbrook Pond tonight (Thursday).
It is understood a group of young people discovered the body and contacted emergency services, who carried out CPR techniques at the scene.
The woman is believed to be in her 30s and from the Bessbrook area.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Police and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended an incident at the pond at the Green Road area of Bessbrook shortly after 6pm this evening.
“A woman who was pulled from the area has since died. There are no further details at this stage.”
