Harrison, (nee Sherry), July 15, 2023. Once a household name, the Sherry family from the Moy Road and Upper English Street were one of the oldest trading families in Armagh. From Butchery, to Fruit and Veg to having your hair done for the weekend, the Sherry’s offered it all.
Joseph and his wife Elizabeth had 7 daughter’s and one son
Mary Dermody (known as May Sherry) +1993, Armagh
Lucie Burns (nee Sherry) +1998, London
Evelyn (nee Sherry) +1998, London

Ita Harrison (nee Sherry)+2023, Scunthorpe
It has now been 30 years and five days, from the first to the last sibling passing away.
Ita worked as a Civil Servant in Belfast before leaving Northern Ireland in 1966, she then married Aidan in 1966 and had since lived in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire.
On July 15th 2023, at the remarkable age of 98 years Ita passed away peacefully in her Care Home in Scunthorpe surrounded by her nephew Andrew Snowden and staff and will now join her late husband Aidan Harrison (+ 2011) in the Forest Cemetery in Scunthorpe.”
With Ita’s passing the final chapter on hundreds of years of the Sherry’s of Armagh comes to an end. Hopefully, the name will live on as long as the people of Armagh speak about “Sherry’s Fields” and use the sports facilities on Cathedral Road.
Funeral to be held in Scunthorpe on August 3, 2023. RIP
