CRAIGAVON Cowboys are holding an American Football Charity Tournament in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care in the People’s Park, Portadown, this Sunday, November 18.
The first games kick-off at 11am and the final is scheduled for 3pm. Teams from all around Ireland are attending, including Belfast Trojans (IAFL Champions), Waterford Wolves, UCD, Mullingar Minators and North Kildare Reapers.
Head Coach Greg Loughran told Armaghi: “We are delighted to be able to raise some much needed funds for Marie Curie and this is a great opportunity for the Cowboys to play the sport we love while doing some good for our local community.
“We are in the middle of our preperation for the 2013 season, so the players are looking forward to the break and clashing face gaurds with some of the local sides.
“So we would encourage anybody in the local area to come down for some fast-paced, hard-hitting American Football – while knowing that all the money raised on the day is going towards a great cause.”
