Armagh City manager Marty Rice to tinker with squad ahead of Coagh clash

Armagh City manager Marty Rice, may have to tinker with his squad this week as his side contest a competitive Bob Radcliffe Cup match tonight, Tueday, October 7, kick-off 7.45pm, also at Holm Park.

On this occasion the visitors are Coagh United who also have a long history of close encounters against City.

Now a Championship Two side, the County Tyrone outfit have not had the best start to the season but are renowned for their cup fighting qualities.

As Bob Radcliffe Cup holders, Armagh City will want to overcome this hurdle and retain the trophy but it will certainly not be easy.

The game, however, will provide the local outfit with a competitive run-out before the vitally important league clash with Larne at the weekend.

Armagh City will renew rivalry with Larne FC when they sail into Holm Park this Saturday.

And there will be extra incentive for the local club to do well against their County Antrim visitors in this Belfast Telegraph Championship One clash.

For, four seasons ago, City were demoted when they failed to grab any points in a mid-week league fixture at Inver Park!

Larne will arrive in confident mood after a 3-0 winning performance at the PSNI last weekend and, so far this season, have exceeded expectations and should get even stronger now that a number of their squad has returned from injury.

City, for their part, took a good away point at Loughgall last Saturday and this should stand them in good stead for the visit of the high-flying visitors.

Their only set-back is a foot injury to midfielder Eamon Kelly picked up on junior international duty in Moldova and, it is understood, this may keep him out of the game for some time!

However, striker Gavin McParland is back into the fold and defender Ultan Lennon is nearing the end of his gaelic commitments.

The Armagh City v Larne FC Belfast Telegraph Championship One game kicks-off at Holm Park, Armagh, this Saturday, October 11, at 3pm. All welcome.
