Armagh City will be going flat-out this Saturday to try and grab much-needed Championship One points against visitors Lisburn Distillery.
The Whites are sitting comfortably in fifth spot in the table, while Marty Rice’s (pictured) outfit are just three places off the bottom.
But City can take consolation from the fact that they defeated Distillery 2-1 at the start of the season, with scores from winger Shea McGerrigan and defender Ultan Lennon.
McGerrigan will miss the return match through suspension, while Lennon is recovering from a lower back injury.
Lennon may be fit and able to join club captain Liam Cullen who completed his 300th appearance for Armagh on Saturday in their Irish Cup win over Newtowne.
There may be a doubt over left-wing-back Ryan McGerrigan who sustained an ankle injury in the tie and, if he cannot play, then Luke Grimley could start in the back-four, with Lennon returning alongside Dara Noonan and Dale Montgomery who seem certain to retain their place.
Prolific striker Stephen Murray was unavailable for the Newtowne game and he could be recalled this Saturday, along with the impressive Philip Donnelly, and January signings Marty Havern and Andrew Hoey.
Others fighting for places in midfield will be Andy Moore and Paul Carvill, who also missed the Newtowne match.
Whatever side manager Rice’s picks, however, will be well aware of the importance of a home win at this vital stage of the season.
The Armagh City v Lisburn Distillery Belfast Telegraph Championship One match kicks-off at Holm Park, this Saturday, January 17, at 3pm.
