Under pressure City set sights on win against Dundela

Armagh City is setting its sights on a Holm Park win this Saturday against east Belfast visitors Dundela.

The local side has struggled in the Belfast Telegraph Championship One this season and needs to bounce back after successive defeats against Larne and Knockbreda.

City’s record against Dundela in recent times has not been good and the last time the teams met was in April two years ago when Armagh suffered a narrow home defeat.

A repeat would be a major blow so a battling performance is required from the under pressure Eagles.

Both City and Dundela are chasing points to improve their league standings, as both try and carve their way out of the bottom half of the table.

Certainly, a draw would not be a disaster but a much-needed win for City would, undoubtedly, be a major morale boost.

The Armagh City v Dundela Belfast Telegraph Championship One match kicks-off this Saturday, October 25, in Holm Park, Armagh, at 3pm. All welcome.

While City may be finding the going tough in the league, their form in cup competitions has been very consistent.

The Holm Park outfit are well on their way to retaining the Bob Radcliife Trophy which they won on Boxing Day last season.

Armagh has already secured a semi-final place and await the winners of the quarter-final tie between Loughgall and Lurgan Celtic. The victors of this match will then play City at Holm Park on Tuesday evening, November 11, at 7.45pm.

The local side is also involved in a crucial Mid-Ulster Cup match during the week.

For, this Tuesday, October 28 at 7.45pm, also at Holm Park, City welcome former Premier League outfit Newry City.

The County Down outfit are fighting to get back into top-flight football after their dramatic fall from grace but, there is no doubt, with a number of talented players in their ranks and a strong fan base, they will provide sturdy opposition.

RACES

Away from the pressure of competitive football, there will be chance for players, supporters and managment to relax during an evening of fun and craic in the Holm Park clubrooms this Saturday, October 25, following the Dundela match.

The highlight will be a ‘Night of the Races’, (7pm), when a course will be set-up inside the club, with punters and owners able to watch their pride and joy in action!

Around the same time there will also be a presentation of the ‘Player-of-the-Month’ award to representatives of both the Senior and Reserve sides.

And, just to round the evening off in style, Armagh City FC has organised a disco to suit all ages. So, a good night’s entertainment is guaranteed.

All welcome!
