FOOTBALL
SPECIAL END OF SEASON TRIP On Saturday next, 15th November, our under 12 and 14 teams are travelling to the Match for Anto in Belfast. We will leave at 2pm to be there for 3pm where we will play a match against St. Brigid’s Belfast. After this, we will get something to eat and will then travel over to Ravenhill for the game. Cost £5 which covers admission and the bus. We will also be donating to motor neurone disease.
We advise players to wrap up warm and also bring a light lunch. We should be back at the club round 9pm. Parents are advised to please pick up their children promptlyly because the club has a number of events taking place and will be very busy indeed on Saturday night. We look forward to a very special day out.

Please note that the first round has been changed from Mullaghbawn to Whitecross this coming Friday, November 14th. The second round will also take place in Maghery, not Clann Eireann. We are delighted to report that 7 acts have confirmed for Scór na nÓg. There will be 2 recitations, 2 solo singing,1 céili dance group, 1 instrumental group and 1 quiz team. After the competition, there will be a session held back in the club lounge and everyone is invited to attend this celebration of talent from our local area and beyond.

Preparation of the club calendar is in full swing and if you have any family or friends reaching a milestone birthday (18th, 21st, 40th, 50th etc.) in 2015, you can highlight this for £5. Any children wishing to have their birthday highlighted should also let us know this week.
ANNUAL MASS FOR DECEASED MEMBERS
A touching mass was held for the deceased members of our club prior to the AGM on Friday evening past. Thanks to Fr Heagney for celebrating and to Mary Larkin for organising proceedings. This is an extremely important date in the club calendar and thanks also to everyone who attended.
THIRD ANNUAL MIDNIGHT WALK
There was a fantastic turnout for the third annual midnight walk in aid of Women’s Aid. Approximately 100 people took to the roads of Mullaghbawn to raise money for this worthy cause. A word of mention must go to the organisers and everyone who helped out with registration, refreshments and all other areas.
UNDERAGE FUNDRAISER
A celebration of music, song and dance was held yesterday evening in the clubrooms. Approximately 200 people were in attendance and it was an evening to remember. More details in next week’s notes.

St Michael’s primary school parents association are holding a pub quiz night in the rural community hall on Saturday 22nd November at 8pm. Teams of max 5 people. All proceeds go towards St Michael’s primary school.
Sponsor a Brick
Previously the club ran a fund raising initiative where club members could sponsor a brick in the new building. As the new building is coming to an end we wanted to make this available to anyone who had previously missed out. Well done and go raibh maith agat to our solo singer Dáiríne McCaughley and our quiz team of Matthew Hosty, Matthew Hagan and Odhrán Magee who represented the club in the first round of Scór na nÓg on Sunday evening. Both of our acts progressed to the county semi-final, which will take place in Maghery at 6pm on Sunday 23 November. Comhghairdeas leis an cheathrar acu. Congratulations to all four.
Oíche Bhronnta/ Presentation Evening
The annual Wolfe Tone and St Enda’s presentation evening will take place at the club on Saturday 29 November. The presentations will take place in the bar and light refreshments will be served. Entertainment will be provided afterwards with the popular Connor Armstrong returning. Make sure you make it down for a great night’s craic.
Camógaíocht/Camogie
Camogie4Mothers continues this Thursday between 7-8pm at Centrepoint Sports in Lurgan. New participants are very welcome and no experience is necessary. Equipment will be provided and a good night’s craic is guaranteed.
Go raibh míle maith agat to everyone who contributed to our unwanted clothes collection fundraiser. A total of £125 was raised. We will continue to collect old clothes, shoes and bags over the winter and if you would like to contribute, you can contact Catherine Henderson or leave them at the club.

Last week’s lotto numbers (03.11.14) were 5,11,12 and 22. There was still no jackpot winner and match 3 winners were D Magee, A Totten, Peter Tallon, Martin McCorry, T Butcher and Malachy McKernan. Sellers prize went to M Tighe and this week’s jackpot is £5,550.
Crannchur Náisiúnta/GAA Club Draw
The GAA National Club Draw is back with more prizes than last year and therefore more chances to win. Prizes include trips abroad, weekends at All-Ireland football and hurling finals and semi-finals, shopping trips, vouchers and many more. Tickets are available from any committee member or from the bar and a number of club members will be selling tickets in a number of areas in Derrymacash. A ticket costs just £10 and every ticket sold will directly benefit Wolfe Tones and St Enda’s.

The annual mass for deceased members and friends of Wolfe Tones and St Enda’s will take place in St Patrick’s Chapel, Aghacommon at 7.00pm on Tuesday 25 November. Night At The Races
Its only days away; Port Mor’s biggest fundraiser of the season. The horses are primed, named paired with Jockeys and trainers, ready to tear up the turf at The Port Mor Restaurant. The race card is being finalised and will be posted on the clubs facebook page later in the week. Food will be served 9pm with first race off 9-30pm. Its sure to be a good nights craic and who knows, you may even win a pound or two. Thanks to all who have purchased horses and provided sponsorship.
Presentation Night
On the same evening as the races the club’s annual presentations will be made. Who will receive the Port Mor Cup following in the footsteps of Michael Higginbotham? Also up for grabs is the most improved senior player as well as minor player of the year and Club person of the year.
Thomas Davis GAC
This weekend seen the Ulster GAA recognise Clubs and Volunteers who excelled during 2014. Thomas Davis GAC were short listed for an award on Saturday 8 November 2014. Chairman Anthony Havern together with our Games and Development Officer Gerry O’Reilly and our Development Officer Gerry O’Reilly Senior travelled to the Hilton in Templepatrick to attend the ceremony. 
On the night Thomas Davis won the President’s Award for Culture and Heritage (pictured right). A great achievement and a welcome recognition for all our hard work and efforts at the Club. This award is a tribute to all our members and volunteers who make the Club what it is. It will have a welcome place on our wall!!! I attach a few photos of the boys collecting the award. All looking very dapper!!

General Notes
Club Sarsfields is seeking new members to assist with meeting the costs of ongoing development works at the club. Members make a monthly contribution to the scheme with all contributions going towards ongoing club development. The target is to reach 100 members by the end of the year to allow development works to be completed. Please speak to any committee member or team manager who will provide further details.
Can all parents please note that construction work is currently ongoing at the field and no children are to be left unsupervised on club premises.

National Draw tickets are now on sale from any committee members costing £10. Sarsfields will receive all the funds from the ticket sales which will go directly to all football teams within the club. WINTER ACADEMY
Na Piarsaigh Óga Winter Academy will offer boys and girls (10-14 years) the opportunity to enjoy Gaelic football in a safe, fun and welcoming environment all FREE of charge.
The Academy aims to provide high class tuition from a pool of qualified and experienced coaching staff, developing the children’s football skills whilst enhancing their passion for our national game.
Focusing on developing individual skills and techniques, emphasis will also be given to building teamwork and FUN.

Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting of O’Connell’s GAC will take place on Wednesday 3rd December. The AGM will be held in the clubrooms and the meeting will commence @ 7.30pm sharp. Everyone is welcome and club members are asked to make an effort to attend.
Tullysaran Camogie Club Ladies Night
Tullysaran Camogie Club held their annual Ladies Night in Mary Ann’s on Friday 7th November. The night was well supported by the local community with people coming from near and far to browse and purchase a wide variety of items from a range of exhibitors. The ladies in attendance were able to relax and avail of the opportunity for a little pampering and have their nails painted by Kerry Creaney and to try out the range of perfumes and Clarins products that were available from McKeevers Chemist in Armagh.
There was plenty of jewellery and accessories for sale from local exhibitor Bag Something Different and this proved to be a popular display on the night. All those who missed out on an opportunity to view or purchase jewellery can contact Patricia through her facebook page Bag Something Different. Definitely worth a look! Angel card readings by Paula McGleenon were also very popular with the ladies on the night. Caroline O’Neill from Complete Living Solutions had a brilliant display of fancy goods and gifts to suit everyone with many using the occasion to purchase presents.
Hawthornes, Armagh were back with their range of Yankee Candles and for anyone who didn’t find the scent they were looking for, you can call into the shop as they have a wide selection available. Rather Pretty, a local business which creates beautiful and unique crafts and gifts which can be personalised to suit your needs, was another busy stall on the night. These delightful crafts can also be viewed on Facebook for anyone who missed out as Louise has some great ideas and gifts for Christmas and other special occasions.
Club merchandise including jerseys, sliotars and mugs which would make great stocking fillers for Christmas were on sale and can still be purchased in time for Christmas if needed.
This event has become a popular fundraiser for the Camogie Club and all money raised is vital for the continued running of the club. A raffle was held on the night and prize winners were as follows with all prizes being generously donated by the stall holders who were there on the night: A Yankee candle set donated by Hawthornes was won by Donna McSorley, Clarins Gift Set sponsored by McKeevers Chemist and was won by Una Donnelly, L&E Accessories sponsored a beautiful clutch bag and Rose Keenan was the lucky winner.
Rather Pretty sponsored a child’s jute bag which was personalised on the night for winner Samantha Corrigan. Neville and Myrtle Pogue, who are dedicated supporters of the Southern Area Hospice Services, were there with a great collection of cards and gifts suitable for Christmas and other occasions. They donated a beautiful Christmas gift which was won by Martina Campbell. Another exhibitor which specialises in vintage crafts and creations was B. Vintage and the creative flowers that were donated were won by Rita McKenna. Other prizes, including wine which was sponsored by Patricia McKinney of Bag Something Different, were won by Kerrie Convie, Majella Hughes, Rosie Morton, Elaine McGrady, Cora Fegan, Patricia McKinney, Clodagh Murray and Catherine Conlon.
The Camogie Club would like to thank all those who donated for their generosity as it was greatly appreciated. Also thanks to the Mary Ann’s staff and all those who provided and served refreshments on the night. All senior players and committee members are asked to return any outstanding ticket money as soon as possible.
