Armagh handed difficult Roscommon tie after Tyrone victory

Armagh have been handed a trip out west to face Roscommon after victory over Tyrone in yesterday’s All-Ireland qualifier.

Roscommon hammered a Cavan side knocked out of Ulster by Armagh last month.

Paul Grimley’s men will head to Dr hyde Park this Saturday full of confidence following that win in Omagh on Sunday, however, the last time these two sides met, in 2012, the Rossies ran out winners.

Yesterday, Armagh ended a poor Tyrone’s involvement in this year’s championship with that three point win in Healy Park.

Mickey Harte’s team were reduced to 14 men at the end of the first half when Mattie Donnelly was shown a second yellow card.

Niall Morgan made a couple of crucial blocks late on to keep Tyrone in the game in the closing stages but the Orchardmen keep the hosts quiet for the remaining 23 minutes of the game.

Scorers:

T Kernan 0-4 (3f), J Clarke 0-3 (2f), A Mallon, M Shields, S Harold, S Campbell, A Kernan (f), R Grugan 0-1 each.
